Egypt Daily News – The IMF’s recent meeting has led to the official approval of the disbursement of the third tranche, amounting to $820 million, for Egypt.
This disbursement allows Egypt to withdraw funds from its loan, bringing the total received to approximately $2 billion out of an overall loan of $8 billion.
The first and second tranches, which were initially scheduled for disbursement in March and September of 2023, were ultimately released last April following the completion of a review of Egypt’s economic reform program.
Looking ahead, the next review of this program is set for September, which could facilitate the disbursement of an additional tranche worth $1.27 billion.
