Egypt Daily News – The recent escalation in violence between Israel and Hezbollah has reportedly resulted in injuries and fatalities in the southern suburb of Beirut. According to Lebanese media, at least seven children were among the injured, with a total of 12 reported injuries and two deaths following an Israeli attack.

The operation was aimed at targeting Fouad Shukr, a leader within Hezbollah, although Israeli reports suggest that it is uncertain if the assassination attempt was successful.

Following the operation, Israeli Prime Minister met with senior military officials, and the Israeli military declared a heightened state of alert. They advised settlers near the Lebanese border to stay in shelters as a precautionary measure.

The explosion reportedly occurred near the Hezbollah Shura Council and was approximately two kilometers from Beirut International Airport.

The Israeli army confirmed responsibility for the operation, stating that it aimed to target a commander “responsible for killing children” in an earlier conflict. This incident has further escalated tensions in the region, reflecting the ongoing cycle of violence between Israel and Hezbollah.
