Egypt Daily News – Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Yazid, a professor of agriculture, highlighted the growing strength and competitiveness of Egyptian agricultural products on a global scale.
He pointed out that Egypt currently leads the world in citrus fruit exports, with a remarkable volume reaching 2 million tons. In a discussion on the “Extra News” channel, he outlined the government’s ambitious plan to export around 10 million tons of fresh agricultural products, alongside industrial food exports.
Dr. Abu Al-Yazid emphasized efforts by the Egyptian government to expand agricultural land through significant national projects. Notably, the New Delta Project aims to enhance agricultural output by targeting more than 4 million acres, with 2.2 million acres already in operation.
He mentioned that these strategic initiatives include the cultivation of essential crops, which has not only resulted in self-sufficiency but also boosted export volumes.
Dr. Abu Al-Yazid concluded by stating that Egypt is collaborating with trade advisors and working alongside the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Industry, Agriculture, and Trade to develop new export opportunities.
