Egypt Daily News – Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ayman Al Safadi, the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized their countries’ support for Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty in a recent meeting.

They underscored the importance of adhering to Security Council Resolution 1701, which aims to maintain peace in the region.

During their discussions, the ministers expressed concern over the escalating Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank and condemned the ongoing violations of holy sites in Jerusalem.

They highlighted the necessity of respecting the legal and historical status of these sites. Notably, they reaffirmed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, comprising an area of 144 dunams, is exclusively a place of worship for Muslims.

They also stressed that the management and regulation of entry to the mosque falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of Jerusalem Endowments and Affairs, which operates under the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sanctities.
