Egypt Daily News – Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aty, strongly rejected Israeli claims regarding weapons smuggling into the Gaza Strip from Egypt, labeling them as falsehoods intended to justify a continued military presence in the Philadelphi corridor, the border area between Egypt and Gaza.

Abdel Aty emphasized that these accusations serve as a distraction from the alleged war crimes being committed against Palestinians in Gaza.

He highlighted Egypt’s efforts to enhance security along the border, including substantial investments to build a security fence and eliminate tunnels.

This statement comes in response to remarks made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who alleged that Hamas is utilizing the Philadelphi Corridor for weapon smuggling.

These Israeli accusations have reportedly triggered considerable discontent among the Egyptian populace.
