Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has made a significant reshuffle at the presidency by issuing a decision that removes 11 advisors from their positions. This decision, numbered 292 for the year 2024 and signed by President Sisi in July, has taken effect from the beginning of August.
Among those dismissed are notable figures such as Lieutenant General Mohab Mamish, who previously served as the head of the Suez Canal Authority and was an advisor for Suez Canal projects and seaports.
Others included in the decision are Mohsen Mahmoud Al-Salawi, who has been the president’s advisor for follow-up since 2015; former Minister of Interior Ahmed Mohamed Gamal El-Din, who advised on remote and border areas; and Mohamed Amr Heiba, a former head of the Administrative Control Authority and advisor for anti-corruption affairs.
Additional advisors who were relieved from their duties include Major General Magdy Mohamed Abdel Ghaffar, who served as advisor for counter-terrorism; Abdel Aziz Mohamed Saif El-Din, former head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization and advisor for technological development; and Mohamed Arfan Gamal El-Din, also a former head of the Administrative Control Authority and advisor for governance and digital transformation.
The list of those exempted further includes advisors Mustafa Sabour, Mohamed Higazi Abdel Mawgood Manaz, Hassan Abdel Shafi Ahmed Abdel Ghani, and military advisor Ali Fahmy Mohamed Ali. The reasons for this major personnel change have not been explicitly detailed in the announcements.
