Zohr Gas Field, Egypt

Egypt Daily News – Engineer Medhat Youssef, former Vice President of the Petroleum Authority, stated that production from the Zohr field will return to its normal levels before the economic crisis by the end of this year.

He pointed out that the decline in production from the Zohr field was due to the halt of developmental drilling operations, which was a result of the foreign partner’s delay in receiving their financial entitlements.

Youssef added, during a phone call with journalist Azza Mustafa on the program “Hour 6” on “Al-Hayat” channel, that the recent agreement between the Egyptian government and the Italian company Eni and its partners has resulted in the resumption of drilling operations in the field.

He emphasized that these developments will lead to a return of production to its previous levels, enhancing the field’s ability to meet local market needs.
