Egypt Daily News – The official newspaper has published, in its latest issue, the call of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, regarding the convening of Parliament in both its chambers, the House of Representatives and the Senate, after the parliamentary recess.
President Sisi calls for the House of Representatives and the Senate to convene in the coming days.
The text of President Sisi’s decision stated that the House of Representatives is invited to convene at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the first of October 2024, to inaugurate the fifth ordinary session of the second legislative term.
As stated in the resolution, the Senate is invited to convene at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, to inaugurate the fifth ordinary session of the first legislative term.
The inaugural session of the parliament witnesses specific details stipulated in the internal regulations of the House of Representatives.
It indicates that the President invites the House of Representatives to the new session before the first Thursday of October. If the invitation is not made, the council convenes on the mentioned day and the regular session lasts for at least nine months.
The President concludes the session after the council’s approval, and the council cannot do so before the adoption of the state budget.
