Putin discusses the situation in the Middle East with Erdogan

Egypt Daily News – The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in the Middle East over the phone with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Kremlin said: “The leaders expressed their satisfaction with the constructive nature of Russian-Turkish relations and their readiness for further close cooperation.

Some current bilateral and international issues were discussed, including the serious developments in the Middle East situation.”

The two parties also confirmed the agreement to hold a separate bilateral meeting at the “BRICS” summit in the Russian city of Kazan.

Erdogan also congratulated the Russian president on his birthday.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced earlier that Turkey has applied for full membership in the BRICS group. Erdogan also accepted an invitation to attend the BRICS summit, which will be held on October 22 and 24 in the Russian city of Kazan.
