Egypt Daily News – Egypt and Jordan reaffirmed their firm stance on the necessity of intensifying serious international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, and to deliver the required amounts of humanitarian aid to save the region from a large-scale humanitarian crisis.

This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s reception of Ayman Safadi, the Jordanian Foreign Minister, yesterday, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, the Foreign Minister, and Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, the Jordanian Ambassador to Cairo.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in the Egyptian and Jordanian efforts aimed at calming the situation in the region, emphasizing that an independent Palestinian state along the lines of June 4, 1967, is the fundamental guarantor of achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.

It also highlighted the dangers of the military escalation path, which complicates the situation and pushes towards serious threats to regional security and the future of the peoples in the area.

The presidential spokesperson stated that the Jordanian Foreign Minister conveyed to President Sisi the greetings of Jordan’s King Abdullah II, which the President appreciated, affirming Egypt’s pride in its historically close relations with Jordan at both the official and popular levels, and their joint efforts to continuously develop the frameworks of bilateral cooperation, in a way that fulfills the aspirations of their two brotherly peoples towards development and prosperity.
