Egypt Daily News – Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allied Syrian factions on Sunday morning, announced control of the city of Al-Safira and the towns of Al-Tayha, Al-Khafsa, Khanaser, and Jabal Azzan in the countryside of Aleppo Governorate, in addition to the villages of Ithriya, Ma’an, Al-Kabariyah, Al-Adaniya, Kawkab, Karah, Khafsin, and the town of Shulin in Hama Governorate countryside, and seizing it from the control of Syrian regime forces and pro-Iranian militias.

It added that it took control of the Artillery College, the Air College, the Military Academy, the Central Prison, and the industrial zone in Sheikh Najjar inside and on the outskirts of the city of Aleppo, which had fallen out of the control of the Syrian regime.

Additionally the military command of Operation “Dawn of Freedom”, led by factions of the Turkish-backed National Army, announced the control of the Kuweires Military Airport, the 111th Regiment, the thermal station and the village of Kavin from the control of the Syrian army in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, heading to Tal Rifaat and the Menagh Military Airport.

On the other hand, Syrian television said that Syrian army regained control of the town of Al-Samman and villages in the vicinity of Hama.

Sources in northern Syria reported that the terrorist factions of Operation Deterrence of Aggression, led by Jabhat Tahrir al-Sham and its allied Syrian factions, arrived this morning on the outskirts of the city of Hama after controlling approximately 16 towns in its northern countryside during the past hours.

In another development, the Chief of Staff of the Syrian army, General Abdul Karim Ibrahim, arrived in Qamhana to begin a counterattack.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense reported the arrival of more military reinforcements to the northern Hama countryside, including personnel, heavy equipment, and rocket launchers, to support and support the advance of the Syrian army counter attack.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 7 members of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham were killed following the explosion of a number of booby-trapped rockets left by regime forces and the militias supporting them in a warehouse in the city of Khan Shaykhun in the southern countryside of Idlib.

The Syrian Civil Defense also reported that 4 civilians were killed, and 54 others were wounded, in a series of raids by Russian warplanes that targeted the neighborhoods of Idlib city and two camps for the displaced this morning.

The Suwayda 24 network said that local militants attacked with rocket-propelled grenades the Baath Party building, the police headquarters building, and the Air Force Intelligence branch in Suwayda.

Diplomatic moves
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is visiting the Syrian capital, Damascus, and then to the Turkish capital, Ankara, to discuss the latest developments in northern Syria.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Araqchi will go to Damascus on Sunday to hold talks with regime officials, and then leave for Ankara, adding that after consulting with the Turkish authorities, he will leave for the next destination, without specifying it.

According to the statement, Araghchi “will soon go to several countries in the region to consult on regional issues, especially recent developments.”

The statement indicated that the Iranian Foreign Minister held a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, during which he discussed the latest developments in Syria, and stressed “the necessity of coordination with Moscow regarding Syria as much as possible.”

On November 27, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, which is listed on the US terrorist lists, along with the National Liberation Front, Jaysh al-Izza and some factions of the Syrian National Army loyal to Turkey, launched the “Deterring Aggression” operation in several areas in northwestern Syria.

The terrorist groups participating in the operation said in a statement that the aim of the operation to deter aggression is to remove the danger of Iranian militias and Syrian regime forces from populated areas, and to expand safe areas to create conditions for the return of the displaced to their homes.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the killing of approximately 372 people since the start of the operation, including 24 civilians.
