Egypt Daily News – Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said that there is no truth to reports that the Italian company Eni postponed drilling work in the Zohr field until next May.

He added during a press conference today, Wednesday, that the company will begin the drilling process this January, when the company’s driller will arrive to work on two other wells within the scope of the field.

He pointed out that the government has developed a plan with the company to restore productivity to the field, stressing that the state is working on the current monthly invoice for foreign partners and the arrears are being scheduled.

He noted that the return of foreign companies to work contributes to providing the state with compensation for the large numbers it lost during the past periods, pointing also to regional cooperation with neighboring countries.

He said that the tripartite Egyptian-Cypriot-Greek summit, has a lot of work to bring such as the Cypriot gas for re-export to Europe, so that Egypt will be a regional center for gas trading in the eastern Mediterranean.
