Egypt Daily News – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lost his temper while trying to refute some of the allegations against him, forcefully hitting the table and being asked to lower his voice during the 17th day of his testimony in his corruption trial.
Netanyahu also lashed out at the prosecutors, saying, “They live in another world. They have made my life miserable.”
Addressing Judge Rivka Friedman-Feldman, he said, “I am usually a very reserved person, but there is something unacceptable here. They have taken away our lives and destroyed them.”
He continued, “I am fulfilling my duties as Prime Minister during this time and coming here twice a week. But I have the right to refute these ridiculous allegations and prove that everything is built on a complete lie. This cannot be ignored,” according to The Times of Israel.
Netanyahu struck the table multiple times during the discussion, prompting Friedman-Feldman to ask him to lower his voice.
He faces charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust in three separate cases, known as Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000.
The charges involve receiving valuable gifts in exchange for regulatory favors and diplomatic support for prominent businessmen, as well as manipulating media coverage in his favor.
