Egypt Daily News – Hanan Ashrawi criticized Palestinian policies and the previous peace negotiations on Sunday evening, and what US President Donald Trump announced of his plan on Gaza, and his call to transfer more than a million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan.
Ashrawi said in a post on her official account on the “X” platform, formerly Twitter: “A note for President Trump: Palestine, including Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, is the land of the Palestinian people; it is the place where they live and belong to them.”
The Palestinian politician added: “They (the Palestinians) are not pawns in the chess game. Their ethnic cleansing is not only an inhumane act and a war crime, but also constitutes a serious threat to the stability of the entire region and the sovereignty of neighboring countries.”
She concluded by saying: “This is the recipe for the start of wars, and not to end it.”
Trump said that he asked the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II, the main partner of the United States in the region, to receive more Palestinians in a phone call, on Saturday, adding to reporters on the presidential plane: “I told him that I love to take over more, because I look at a sector the entire Gaza is now and I see that it is in a state of chaos, it is a real chaos. “
Trump continued in his statements that he would like Jordan and Egypt to shelter people, and that he would talk to the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, about this matter, adding: “You are talking about a million and a half people, and we will just eliminate this whole matter,” adding that “there are Conflicts that have been going on for centuries in the region.”
