Egypt Daily News – Sudanese paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti,” has alleged that the Egyptian Air Force conducted bombings targeting RSF elements in the Jebel Moya area of the Sennar state.

In a video shared on the X platform (formerly Twitter), he accused Egypt of training the Sudanese army and supplying it with Chinese K8 aircraft, as well as suggesting that several unnamed countries are providing support to the Sudanese army.

In response, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied these allegations, stating that Egypt is committed to facilitating peace and humanitarian efforts in Sudan amidst the ongoing conflict.

The ministry emphasized Egypt’s dedication to the stability and unity of Sudan, highlighting its role in supporting the country during the current crisis.

This backdrop includes previous denials from the Sudanese army regarding the acquisition of K8 aircraft from Egypt, clarifying that they have had these aircraft for over two decades and obtained them directly from China.

The situation reflects the complexities of the conflict in Sudan, which has seen a split between Hemedti and army commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, alongside the involvement and interest of foreign nations.

The relationship between Egypt and the RSF has seen fluctuations, previously marked by cooperation, such as Hemedti’s expression of gratitude toward Egypt’s support for Sudan’s stability in May 2023, before the outbreak of open conflict.

Additionally, the RSF had earlier detained Egyptian soldiers involved in military exercises, which were resolved through diplomatic channels. The evolving dynamics indicate a tense atmosphere as stakeholders navigate the humanitarian crisis and geopolitical ramifications of the conflict in Sudan.
