Egypt Daily News – Illness did not prevent international star Celine Dion from celebrating the opening of the 33rd edition of the Olympic Games in Paris, on Friday evening, where she excelled in her first appearance since announcing that she was suffering from stiff person syndrome.
The Canadian singer, who has been absent from concerts since 2020, performed the song “Hymne A L’Amour” (“Love Ode”) by Edit Piaf, from the Eiffel Tower.
Dion suffers from this rare disease, which causes her difficulties in walking, and also prevents her from using her vocal cords the way she wants to perform her songs.
The ceremony in Paris not only witnessed Dion’s return to singing live on stage, but also included her performing in French in honor of the Olympic hosts.
