Parliamentarian: Allocating funds to appoint 80,000 teachers and 30,000 in the medical sector

Egypt Daily News - Representative Mustafa Salem, Undersecretary of the Plan and Budget Committee in the House of Representatives, said that the budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025; It shows great interest in education and health, noting that 200 billion pounds have been allocated to the health sector, compared to 147 billion this year, with a growth rate of 35%.

During statements to the “New Egypt” program with media personality Angie Anwar, broadcast on the “ETC” screen on Tuesday evening, he announced an increase in the education budget to 294.6 billion pounds, compared to 229.8 billion pounds this year, with a growth rate of 28%.

He stated that the budget includes government job opportunities that the state will provide during the new fiscal year, noting that funds have been allocated to employ 120,000 young people, including only 80,000 in the education sector, in implementation of presidential directives to appoint 150,000 teachers over a period of 5 years.

He explained that the budget includes the hiring of the 30,000 teachers scheduled for next year, in addition to “50,000 through the assistance of youth or teachers transferred for retirement, in addition to 12,000 who were transferred from the previous year.”

He noted that about 30,000 people will be appointed in the medical sector and 10,000 in other sectors, as part of the state’s interest in the new budget in education, health, social protection, and providing job opportunities.
