The Israeli army confirms the killing of 8 of its soldiers in Rafah

Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee, in a tweet on the “X” platform, did not address the details of the incident, but the military wing of the Hamas movement said earlier that it killed and wounded a number of Israeli soldiers in an ambush of an armored personnel carrier in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that 8 soldiers were killed in a "serious accident" after their armored vehicle hit an explosive device near the Tel Sultan refugee camp.

The newspaper continued: "The disaster occurred around five o'clock in the morning. The Israeli force had finished its activity and was on its way back on board an armored vehicle, when the big explosion occurred, causing fires to ignite." The Israeli army has notified the families of the victims, whose names have not yet been revealed.
