Egypt and Poland agree to enhance economic cooperation in 16 fields

Egypt Daily News – The first session of the Egyptian-Polish Joint Committee to Promote Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation were concluded, headed by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, and her Polish counterpart, in implementation of the economic cooperation agreement that was signed during the visit of the Polish President to Egypt in 2022.

The new economic cooperation agreement between Egypt and Poland comes to replace the old economic cooperation agreement signed in 1964 between the two countries, under whose umbrella 12 sessions of the Egyptian-Polish Joint Committee were held.

The last committee was held in 1993 in Cairo, to keep pace with economic developments, and to establish the new agreement for a new phase of relations between the two countries, through which work will be done to advance joint action in all areas of development and economic cooperation.

At the conclusion of the joint committee’s first session, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat and Mr. Krzysztof Paszek, Minister of Economic Development and Technology of Poland, signed the protocol for the first session of the committee, in which the two sides agreed to enhance joint cooperation in 16 fields in the sectors of trade, investment, digital transformation, green transformation, and others.

The two countries agreed to exchange experiences in the field of digital transformation and investment, exchange trade missions and organize visits for Egyptian and Polish investors, support commercial initiatives and display investment opportunities available in manufacturing and logistics services, and advance partnership in the environment, health, pharmaceutical, electricity and renewable energy sectors, in addition to enhancing cooperation to develop the project sector in the small and medium-sized enterprises, supporting emerging companies, as well as supporting partnerships in the field of food security, agricultural research, and livestock.
