Egypt Daily News – Egypt expressed its complete rejection and condemnation of the Israeli government’s decision to expand settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan, which represents a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian state.

Egypt considers the Israeli plans to expand settlement within the occupied Syrian Golan territories in violation of international law as an insistence on imposing a fait accompli policy, and once again reflects Israel’s lack of desire to achieve just peace in the region, and its continued expansion in seizing Arab lands and changing the demographic status of the lands it occupies, in blatant violation. International law and international conventions, including the four Geneva Conventions, describe Israel as the occupying power.

Egypt calls on international actors and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in rejecting these violations of Syrian sovereignty and to put an end to Israeli settlements.
