Egypt Daily News – A high-level source denied what was circulated in the Israeli media about the existence of operating tunnels between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
The source confirmed that “Israel is making these allegations because of its failure to achieve any achievement in the Gaza Strip.”
The Egyptian source said, “Israel did not provide evidence of the existence of operating tunnels on the borders of the Gaza Strip, and is exploiting the closed tunnels in Gaza to spread false claims to achieve political goals.”
He added: “There is no truth to what the Israeli media is circulating about the existence of operating tunnels between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.”
He stressed that “Israel turns a blind eye to the arms smuggling operations from Israel to the (occupied West Bank) to create justification for seizing West Bank lands and carrying out more killing and extermination of Palestinians.”
He pointed out that “Israel’s failure to achieve progress in Gaza prompts it to spread allegations about the existence of tunnels to justify its continued aggression against the Strip.”
