Egypt, Qatar, Israel and America meet in Rome for Gaza solution

Egypt Daily News – Axios revealed that the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency intends to meet with officials from Israel, Qatar, and Egypt in the Italian capital, Rome, regarding an agreement related to Gaza.

CIA Director Bill Burns is expected to meet on Sunday in Rome with senior Israeli, Qatari and Egyptian officials in an attempt to end the prisoner deal in Gaza and the ceasefire agreement, American and Israeli officials revealed to Axios.

The White House announced that President Joe Biden called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during their meeting in Washington on Thursday, to reach an agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible.

The White House said in a statement, “President Biden expressed the need to fill the remaining gaps, complete the agreement as soon as possible, return the prisoners to their homes, and reach a sustainable end to the war in Gaza,” noting that the president and his guest discussed the “humanitarian crisis” in Gaza. The need to remove obstacles that impede the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

They added that the President and Netanyahu “discussed in detail the developments in Gaza and the ongoing negotiations regarding a ceasefire and the release of prisoners.

According to the statement, Biden and Netanyahu also discussed the “humanitarian crisis” in Gaza and the need to remove obstacles that impede the flow of humanitarian aid to the Strip.

According to the statement, Biden stressed to Netanyahu “the critical importance of protecting civilian lives during military operations.”
