Egypt Daily News – Egypt has warned of the repercussions of statements made today by a number of members of the Israeli government especially Minister of Defense Katz about the start of a plan by the Israeli army to displace the Palestinian people from their land, which is a flagrant and blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the most basic rights of Palestinian citizens, and calls for accountability.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized the catastrophic repercussions that may result from this irresponsible behavior, which weakens and destroys the negotiation of the ceasefire agreement, and incites the resumption of fighting, in addition to the risks that may result in the entire region and the foundations of peace. Egypt reiterates its complete rejection of such irresponsible statements.
Egypt stresses that it completely rejects any proposal or concept that aims to end the Palestinian cause by uprooting or displacing the Palestinian people from their historical land and seizing it, whether on an interim or final basis, warning of the repercussions of such ideas, which are an injustice and an infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, to which Egypt will not be a party.
Egypt emphasizes the need to deal with the roots of the conflict, which is the existence of a people under occupation for decades, during which they have suffered all forms of displacement, persecution and discrimination, which must be worked to end immediately and restore the Palestinian people to their inalienable rights in accordance with the terms of reference of international legitimacy.
Egypt reaffirms the need to implement the ceasefire in Gaza in its three phases in a permanent manner, noting its intention to engage immediately with partners and friends in the international community to implement concepts for early recovery, rubble removal and reconstruction within a specific time frame, without the departure of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, especially given their attachment to their historical land and their refusal to leave it.
Egypt has sent warning to the Pentagon, US Lawmakers and EU officials that an expulsion of Palestinians would undermine the Camp David peace treaty with Israel, a cornerstone of stability and American influence for decades in the Middle East.
