Egypt Daily News – The Egyptian General Authority for Information reaffirmed on Monday Egypt’s firm and principled stance of “absolute and final” rejection of any attempt to forcibly or voluntarily displace Palestinian brothers from the Gaza Strip to any place outside it, especially to Egypt.
In a statement published on its official website, the authority stated that such displacement “constitutes the liquidation of the Palestinian cause and poses a grave threat to Egypt’s national security.”
The authority also emphasized “Egypt’s total rejection of any claims circulated by some media outlets linking Egypt’s acceptance of the completely rejected displacement attempts to economic aid being provided to it.”
The statement stressed that “Egypt’s foreign policy has never been based on ‘bargaining’ over its supreme national and Arab interests in exchange for any form of compensation.”
The General Authority for Information further stated: “With regard to the Palestinian issue in particular, which is at the core of Egyptian and Arab national security, Egypt’s position on it has remained steadfast for more than three-quarters of a century. It prioritizes national security considerations and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Egypt has borne enormous economic and financial burdens as a result, with patience and determination, never compromising even slightly on its national security or the collective security of the Arab nation, nor on a single legitimate right of the Palestinian people.”
The statement concluded by asserting that “Egypt has not only categorically and definitively rejected the displacement plan, which has been proposed since the start of the aggression on Gaza, in political and diplomatic forums, but it also declared its rejection loudly and clearly from the very first hours of the aggression.
This stance was voiced by its political leadership, committing itself to it before its people and the entire world, in alignment with its national security, supreme Arab interests, and the preservation of the Palestinian cause. Egypt remains committed to the principles of its foreign policy, which is based on ethics and the complete rejection of any considerations of ‘bargaining’ influencing its decisions,” according to the statement.
Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he had asked Jordan’s King Abdullah II to take in more Palestinians during a phone call, telling reporters aboard Air Force One: “I told him I would love for you to take more because when I look at the entire Gaza Strip now, I see it’s in chaos. It’s a real mess.”
Trump added that he wanted both Jordan and Egypt to take in displaced people, saying, “You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we will just remove the whole issue.” He emphasized that “there have been conflicts in the region for centuries.”
Trump later announced his plan to take control of Gaza, relocate Palestinians, and transform it into the “Riviera of the Middle East,” which was met with widespread rejection from Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine.
Subsequently, Trump stated that he would not impose the displacement plan but rather “propose it” and expressed surprise at Egypt and Jordan’s rejection of his plan. He also voiced astonishment over what he described as Israel’s past “concession” of Gaza, calling it a “bad real estate decision” during an interview with the American radio station Fox News.
