Minister Bade Abdel Atti returns home with 294 Egyptians stranded in Beirut

Egypt Daily News – On Wednesday, Egypt returned 294 citizens from Lebanon, which is being bombed by Israel, accompanied by Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti during his return from Beirut.

A statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that today, at the conclusion of his visit to the Lebanese capital, Beirut, Abdel-Atti accompanied 294 Egyptians stranded in Lebanon and their families to return them to the homeland, on board the EgyptAir plane that carried the Foreign Minister on his way back, bringing the total number of those returned to 1,177 citizens via EgyptAir exceptional flights.

Egyptian citizens returning from Lebanon expressed their “deep appreciation for the state’s interest in ensuring their safe return to the homeland by operating exceptional flights and at the state’s expense, which confirms that the interests and safety of citizens are placed at the top of the Egyptian state’s priorities.”

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that “the Ministry is sparing no effort, in coordination with all state agencies, to provide all possible means of support to Egyptian citizens in Lebanon, whether by including them on return flights to Egypt or providing various consular services that the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut is keen to continue providing despite “The difficult security situation in Beirut.”
