Egypt Daily News – Trump emphasized that America will not fund investments in Gaza and others will do so, noting that “there is no need to deploy U.S. soldiers to Gaza. “We want to see long-term stability in the Middle East,” Trump added, stressing: “We are studying everything about Gaza.”
Trump emphasized that he wants to speak with Putin, noting that he will speak with Zelensky next week.
This reversal comes after significant Egyptian diplomatic pressure to prevent the implementation of this insidious plan.
As part of coordinating Arab positions and consulting on developments in the Palestinian issue and the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati held intensive contacts over the past few hours under the directives of the President of the Republic with a number of his Arab counterparts, which included contacts with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain (the current president of the Arab Summit), Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania and Sudan.
The contacts witnessed an exchange of views on developments in the Palestinian issue and emphasized the constancy of the Arab position on the Palestinian issue, which rejects any measures aimed at displacing the Palestinian people from their land or encouraging their transfer to other countries outside the Palestinian territories, in light of the fact that these concepts and ideas represent a flagrant violation of international law, an infringement on Palestinian rights, threaten security and stability in the region and undermine opportunities for peace and coexistence among its peoples.
They also reflected a consensus on the need to seek a permanent and just political solution to the Palestinian issue through the only practical path, which is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the decisions of international legitimacy.
Minister Abdel Aty reviewed Egypt’s efforts to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the implementation of all its provisions in its three phases, the rapid delivery of humanitarian aid, and efforts to move forward with early recovery, rubble removal and reconstruction projects and programs, without the departure of Palestinians from Gaza, stressing Egypt’s support for the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
The Arab ministers agreed to intensify contacts between them during the coming period and to continue consultation and coordination with other Arab ministers.
