Egyptian Foreign Minister is heading to Turkey, coinciding with the visit of Syria’s Al Sharaa

Egypt Daily News – Sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry revealed that the Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel -Ati will make an official visit to Ankara tomorrow, Tuesday, coinciding with the visit of Syrian President Ahmed Al -Sharaa to Türkiye.

It is scheduled that Abdel -Ati will meet his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan at the Turkish Foreign Ministry headquarters in Ankara, in conjunction with the visit of Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara to Türkiye.

The talks between the two ministers will include discussing all aspects of Turkish -Egyptian relations, in addition to preparing for a high -level strategic Cooperation Council meeting, to be held in 2026. Consultations will also be held on a number of regional issues, including Gaza, Syria, Libya, and the Horn of African files.

The talks will stress on the common desire to raise the level of bilateral relations to a higher level by 2025, which coincides with the centenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Egypt. It is expected that the two ministers will highlight the importance of encouraging investments between the two countries, in the framework of the goal of raising the volume of trade exchange to 15 billion dollars, in addition to supporting the reconstruction of Gaza and the joint efforts to achieve the two -state solution.

The joint efforts to purify Syria from terrorism and combat terrorist organizations, including ISIS and the Kurdistan Workers Party/Kurdish Protection Units, will also be discussed.

Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara will visit, tomorrow, Tuesday, the capital, Ankara, where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet. “The transitional president of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmed Al -Shara, will visit Ankara on Tuesday 4 February, at the invitation of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”

He pointed out that during the talks that will take place in the presidential complex, the latest developments in Syria will be discussed in all aspects, and to evaluate the common steps that the two countries must take, in order to recover economic, stability and sustainable security in the country.

The talks will also focus on the support that can be provided to the transitional administration and the Syrian people on multilateral platforms.
