Egyptian singer Ahmed Adawiya has passed away

Egypt Daily News – A few months after the death of his wife, Egyptian singer Ahmed Adawiya passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 79 after a struggle with illness. His daughter Lamia Rateb, daughter  announced his death.

Rateb published a picture of the late popular singer, and commented on it, saying, “We belong to God and to Him we shall return.. I worked a lot and was patient.. May God grant you Paradise and its bliss, my beloved.. the beloved of all and the beloved of my father.. Peace is a trust,  Ahmed.”

Then Mohamed Adawiya announced the news, after he published a picture of himself with his late father, and commented on it, saying, “May God have mercy on you, Dad.. May God have mercy on the kind-hearted.. the tender-hearted.. the forgiving one.”

From the Seventies
It is noteworthy that Ahmed Adawiya began his career in the 1970s, and performed many successful popular songs, including “Salamtha Um Hassan,” “Rahawa Al-Habayeb,” and “Zahmah Ya Donia Zahmah.”

Due of his singing success, his career as an actor began, after he appeared in more than one movie during the seventies and eighties, and among those films were “Al Shahat” and “Mkhaymar is always ready.”

But in the mid-eighties of the last century, he suffered an accident, which caused him to be away from the artistic community for long periods, before he returned with some songs in recent years.
