Egypt Daily News – While the prisoner exchange deal and the truce in the besieged Gaza Strip between Israel and the Hamas movement are still pending, amid hints that it will soon be reached, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is conducting negotiations in the United States on the one hand, and discussions continue between the mediators on the other hand.

“Israeli leaks”
However, a high-ranking Egyptian source completely denied the presence of Israeli or Palestinian delegations in his country to discuss the truce in the Gaza Strip.

Sources added on Wednesday that the source also denied that Israel had informed Egypt of its response to the truce proposal, stressing that what is being circulated are nothing but Israeli leaks to cover up Netanyahu’s speech in Congress.

The source also believed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to pre-empt his speech to the US Congress with incorrect claims about allowing the exit of injured Palestinians, intensifying humanitarian relief operations in the Gaza Strip, and achieving progress with the truce agreement.

This came after sources familiar with the negotiations reported that all details of the deal between Israel, the mediators, and Hamas had already been reached.

They added on Wednesday, citing informed officials, that the discussions even included security difficulties, and that the repercussions of the Israeli withdrawal from the Philadelphia axis and the return of residents of the northern Gaza Strip were discussed.

The consequences of the Prime Minister’s announcement that the implementation of the deal depends only on the appropriate political timing were also discussed, according to the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz”.

This came amid pressure on Netanyahu to agree to an exchange agreement as soon as possible despite the latter’s stubbornness.
