Egypt Daily News – Recent official data has shown a notable surge in Egypt’s exports to two key markets: Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the first five months of 2024, Egyptian exports to the UAE rose dramatically by 95%, reaching approximately $1.170 billion, up from $600 million in the same period of 2023. Meanwhile, exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 25%, totaling around $1.463 billion, compared to $1.171 billion in the previous year.

In total, Egyptian exports to the five largest receiving countries amounted to about $6.246 billion in the initial five months of 2024, reflecting an increase of approximately 3.06% or $186 million from $6.06 billion during the same period in 2023.

The rise in exports to Saudi Arabia was particularly attributed to a significant increase in copper and its products, which alone generated about $245.705 million, up from $119.5 million last year, marking an increase of over $126 million.

Furthermore, exports of electrical appliances grew to approximately $126.281 million from $78.597 million, representing an increase of about $47.7 million. Additionally, fruit exports contributed $142.538 million, compared to $119.533 million in the prior year, reflecting an increase of $23 million.

The United States also ranked as one of the top five markets for Egyptian exports, with figures reaching about $937.994 million during the first five months of 2024, an increase of $146.061 million from $791.933 million during the same time last year.

This overall growth highlights Egypt’s increasing presence in various international markets.
