Egypt’s Foreign Minister to his French counterpart: Egypt’s plan for Gaza’s reconstruction is supported by the Arab world

Egypt Daily News – In a phone call today, Sunday, between Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Jean-Noël Barrot, French Minister of Foreign Affairs, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and review the latest regional developments.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel Aty praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and France and the strong ties between the two countries. He emphasized Egypt’s aspiration to enhance cooperation in various fields and highlighted the importance of boosting economic and trade collaboration, encouraging French investments in Egypt, especially in light of the recent measures taken by Egypt to attract foreign investments.

He expressed Egypt’s appreciation for France’s support within the European Union and its institutions in advancing the implementation of the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Egypt and the EU. He also looked forward to the approval of the second tranche of the European financial package for Egypt, worth 4 billion euros.

The spokesperson added that the two ministers exchanged views and assessments regarding developments in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdel Aty briefed his French counterpart on Egypt’s efforts to solidify the ceasefire agreement, ensuring the implementation of all its provisions and three phases, as well as facilitating the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to the region.

He outlined Egypt’s comprehensive plan for early recovery and reconstruction while ensuring that Palestinians remain on their land and emphasized that these efforts have Arab support and expressed hope that the international community, including the EU and France, would back Egypt’s initiatives in this regard.

For his part, the French Foreign Minister praised Egypt’s significant and pivotal role in securing the ceasefire agreement and welcomed Egypt’s intensive efforts to develop a comprehensive vision for early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza.
