Egypt’s government compensates Ras El Hekma residents with 4.4 billion pounds

Egypt Daily News – Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, chaired a meeting on Wednesday at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to discuss the progress of the Ras El Hekma City Development Project.

The focus was on the handover procedures for the project’s first phase and compensation distributions for eligible residents. Key attendees included Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Engineers Sherif El-Sherbiny, Khaled Amin, and Major Generals Khaled Shuaib and Ahmed Al-Azzazi, along with relevant ministry officials.

At the meeting’s outset, Prime Minister Madbouly underscored the importance of monitoring the project’s progress, particularly regarding its handover to the Emirati partners and the compensation for local residents.

The official spokesman, Counselor Muhammad Al-Homsani, reported that the meeting reviewed current executive procedures, highlighting the ongoing disbursement of in-kind compensation to eligible residents, which has totaled over 4.4 billion pounds so far.

Discussions also covered the provision of alternative land plots for displaced families for new housing in the “Shams al-Hikma” area, as well as the development of infrastructure, including residential, commercial, and open spaces.

The meeting confirmed the start of surveying for the main road network in Shams al-Hikma City, with a plan in place for the construction of roads and facilities in cooperation with the New Ras El Hekma City Authority.

Emphasizing the urgency of these projects, Prime Minister Madbouly stated his intent to regularly monitor progress, especially regarding the distribution of plots to the 1,500 families entitled to them, reinforcing the government’s commitment to providing essential utilities and infrastructure for the affected residents.
