Egypt’s Media Syndicate has announced a sweeping initiative to monitor and counter what it described as coordinated attempts to undermine relations between Egypt and Gulf Arab states, amid heightened regional tensions.

In a statement issued Wednesday evening, the Egyptian Media Syndicate said it had activated its media observatory and mobilized its platforms to confront “external schemes” aimed at destabilizing long-standing ties between Egypt and its Gulf allies.

The syndicate stressed that the security and stability of Gulf countries are not merely a political concern but a “deeply rooted doctrine” and an integral part of Egypt’s national security framework.

According to the statement, extensive monitoring of the media landscape showed that traditional outlets—including television and radio in both Egypt and Gulf states—remain largely free of professional violations. Instead, the syndicate pointed to digital platforms and personal social media accounts as the primary sources of harmful content, alleging that many are operated by fake profiles or foreign-backed entities seeking to spread division and weaken Arab unity.

Reaffirming its position, the syndicate declared full support for Gulf nations in the face of ongoing threats and strongly condemned what it described as “blatant Iranian violations” against Arab and Gulf territories.

The organization also unveiled a series of concrete measures, including the launch of a nationwide campaign titled “Egypt and the Gulf Are One People,” which will be adopted across Egyptian media platforms. Plans include the creation of independent digital outlets to promote shared narratives and an open invitation for Gulf writers, intellectuals, and media figures to participate in Egyptian programming to deepen dialogue and cooperation.

As part of its enforcement strategy, the syndicate said its media observatory will track accounts deemed offensive or harmful and pursue legal action against individuals accused of damaging national security. It also announced that its Rumor Control Center will be fully dedicated to rapidly responding to misinformation targeting Egyptian-Gulf relations.

The syndicate further called for direct engagement with Egyptian content creators and social media influencers, aiming to provide them with verified information about the historical depth and strategic importance of ties between Egypt and Gulf countries.

In a broader appeal, the statement urged parliament, professional unions, religious institutions, and universities to publicly denounce attacks on Gulf states and reaffirm solidarity with regional allies.

The move comes alongside a joint statement issued by several key Egyptian media authorities, including the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, the National Press Authority, and the National Media Authority, which collectively rejected any form of media offense against allied nations and pledged legal action against violators.

The joint statement emphasized that relations between Egypt and Gulf states remain deeply rooted at official, popular, and familial levels, describing attempts to harm these ties as a direct threat to broader Arab national interests.

Officials noted growing concern over negative trends in parts of the Egyptian and Arab media landscape in recent weeks, warning that such practices risk undermining regional cohesion at a critical moment.

The Media Syndicate concluded by urging the public not to be swayed by what it called “unpatriotic voices,” calling instead for reliance on official information and reaffirmation of the enduring bonds of unity across the Arab world.
