Egypt Beats Ethiopia 2-0

Egypt Daily News – Egypt’s national football team, led by Hossam Hassan, secured a valuable 2-0 victory over Ethiopia in a match held at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Morocco. With this result, Egypt raised its tally to 13 points, continuing to lead Group A in the World Cup qualifiers, while Ethiopia remained at 3 points.

The match started at a fast pace from both teams. In the 6th minute, Ethiopia surprised the Pharaohs with a cross that one of their forwards headed just wide of Mohamed El Shenawy’s left post. In response, Ahmed Sayed Zizo fired a well-placed shot in the 14th minute, narrowly missing the Ethiopian net.

Mahmoud Trezeguet squandered a golden opportunity to put Egypt ahead in the 19th minute when the ball fell perfectly in front of the goal, but his header went off target. The Ethiopian goalkeeper denied Trezeguet another clear chance in the 25th minute.

Egypt’s captain Mohamed Salah finally broke the deadlock in the 31st minute, capitalizing on a precise pass from Hamdy Fathy to slot the ball skillfully into the net. Zizo doubled the Pharaohs’ lead in the 40th minute, ending the first half 2-0 in Egypt’s favor.

In the second half, coach Hossam Hassan brought on Mostafa Mohamed for Osama Faisal in the 71st minute. Trezeguet came close to scoring again in the 73rd minute, but his low shot struck the post and went out of play.
