Egypt Daily News – Today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the severing of diplomatic relations with Israel. Erdogan stated: “We, as a state and government in the Republic of Turkey, decided to sever relations with Israel, and now we do not have any relations with it.”

Erdogan added that Ankara will not take any steps or measures to develop cooperation or restore relations with Israel in the future.

Turkey has condemned Israel’s actions and accused it of committing massacres against Palestinian civilians. It has also repeatedly called for a ceasefire and in early May, the Turkish Ministry of Trade announced the complete severing of its trade relations with Israel.

Before that, Ankara restricted the export of 54 subgroups of goods, but that did not deter Israel, and the Israeli army continued its aggression against Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also been subjected to personal criticism more than once, as his speech in the US Congress in July of this year not only caused anti-war protests in the Capitol building, but also led to a bold and violent response from Turkish politicians, including hat of Erdogan, who described the Israeli Prime Minister as “a butcher, with his hands stained with the blood of 150,000 Gazans,” and that Netanyahu is “the modern Fuhrer” with the West turns a blind eye to his crimes.
