Egypt Daily News – Early morning today an accident on the Ring Road involved a series of catastrophic events initiated by a trailer driver who was reportedly speeding.
The trailer collided with two transport vehicles, one of which was loaded with construction materials like sand. This collision resulted in a traffic jam, causing several cars to immediately stop and join the accident!
In total, the accident escalated to a massive pile-up involving 12 vehicles, including private cars and microbuses. Eyewitness reports indicate that the driver of the trailer lost control due to excessive speed, ultimately running over 11 stationary vehicles, leading to their total destruction.
The emergency response was swift, with ambulances transporting the 25 injured individuals to nearby hospitals as traffic authorities worked diligently to manage the chaos caused by the incident. Traffic cranes were deployed to remove the wreckage amid heavy congestion on the road.
Investigators from the Giza Security Directorate are actively gathering statements from eyewitnesses and vehicle owners involved in the accident.
