Explosions were reported in Bahrain, Kuwait and Abu Dhabi on Saturday, heightening fears that the escalating confrontation between the United States, Israel and Iran is spreading across the Gulf region.

Authorities in several countries moved swiftly to activate emergency measures amid concerns about possible missile threats targeting US military facilities and regional infrastructure.

In Bahrain, the Interior Ministry announced the activation of warning sirens and urged residents to remain alert, citing the risk of potential Iranian strikes on US bases in the kingdom. According to the Bahrain News Agency, a missile attack targeted a service center linked to the US Fifth Fleet.

Officials did not immediately release details on damage or casualties.

In Kuwait, civil aviation authorities ordered the temporary closure of the country’s airspace to all aircraft and passenger traffic, describing the move as a precautionary step in light of the rapidly evolving security situation.

The United Arab Emirates also announced a temporary and partial closure of its airspace, calling the measure an exceptional precaution as regional tensions intensified. Residents in Abu Dhabi reported hearing loud explosions, though authorities have not yet provided an official explanation of the blasts.

The developments come as the region remains on high alert following major US and Israeli strikes on Iran earlier in the day and Tehran’s subsequent missile launches toward Israel.

Security analysts warn that the spread of alerts and airspace closures across multiple Gulf states underscores the risk of the conflict widening beyond its initial theaters.

Officials across the region have not ruled out further precautionary measures as the situation continues to unfold.
