Egypt Daily News – A huge fire engulfed the “Princess” café and restaurant on Teseen (90th) Street in the Fifth Settlement was engulfed in flames for 60 minutes, with the fire rapidly spreading to the adjacent “Teleperformance Egypt” building. Patrons and employees of the café attempted to flee as the fire intensified and rendered fire extinguishers ineffective.
The Civil Defense Forces in Cairo took approximately 120 minutes to fully extinguish the blaze, having surrounded the flames with multiple fire trucks and water tanks.
Paramedics were on standby to address any cases of suffocation or injuries stemming from the incident.
As of now, the firefighting teams are continuing to conduct cooling operations to prevent any reignition of the fire, which tragically resulted in the suffocation of seven individuals present at the scene, as reported by a security source.
