Egypt Daily News – On Monday evening, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s strong condemnation of the attack that targeted the American Al Udeid Air Base by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

In its statement, the Ministry considered the attack a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as of international law and the United Nations Charter. It emphasized that Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner proportional to the nature and scale of this blatant aggression and in accordance with international law.

The statement added: “We reassure that the Qatari air defenses successfully intercepted and neutralized the Iranian missiles. A detailed statement about the circumstances of the attack will be issued later by the Ministry of Defense.”

It also stressed that the continuation of such escalatory military actions would undermine security and stability in the region and drag it into scenarios that could have catastrophic consequences for international peace and security. The statement called for an immediate halt to all military actions and a serious return to the negotiating table and dialogue.

It highlighted that Qatar was one of the first countries to warn against the dangers of Israeli escalation in the region, stressing the priority of diplomatic solutions and adherence to the principles of good neighborliness and de-escalation. It affirmed that dialogue is the only way to overcome the current crises and to safeguard the region’s security and the well-being of its peoples.

The statement concluded by noting that the base had been evacuated earlier as part of approved security and precautionary measures, given the ongoing regional tensions. All necessary steps had been taken to ensure the safety of personnel at the base, including Qatari Armed Forces members, allied forces, and others, confirming that there were no injuries or casualties as a result of the attack.
