Egypt Daily News – Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, affirmed Egypt’s keenness to engage effectively in regional and international efforts aimed at achieving stability in brotherly Sudan, in a way that preserves its interests, sovereignty and territorial integrity, noting Egypt’s efforts to have Sudan resume its activities in the African Union.
This came during his visit to Port Sudan, today, Tuesday, to deliver a message from the President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, to his brother, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council.
This is the first visit of the Egyptian Foreign Minister to Sudan since the outbreak of the Sudanese crisis in April 2023, under the direction of President Sisi.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel-Ati stressed during the meeting with the President of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council that President Sisi takes pride in the historical and fraternal relations between Egypt and Sudan, and the determination to make all possible efforts to achieve security and stability for Sudan.
