Egypt Daily News – The FBI stated that it is investigating “what appears to be an assassination attempt on former President Trump,” which could be the second after a previous attempt last July. Local police arrested a suspect after gunfire was reported at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump was between the fifth and sixth holes on the golf course, and the suspect was several holes away, according to sources. A source familiar with the matter said that the former American president was moving between the fifth and sixth holes when the incident occurred.

According to two sources in the law enforcement authorities, the suspect with whom the Secret Service dealt was ahead of the former President by a number of holes. The source added that the Secret Service fired at the suspect as a precautionary measure.

The shooter was carrying an AK-47 but dumped it and tried to escape in his vehicle, but was caught by the police.

The New York Post has reported that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is safe following a shooting incident outside his golf club in Florida.

Sources from law enforcement have indicated that Trump was not in danger during the exchange of gunfire and that his campaign had reassured the public of his safety without providing specific details about the incident.

The Wall Street Journal also confirmed that Trump was at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, at the time of the shooting.

This incident follows a previous assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania on July 13, during which he sustained a minor injury to his ear.

With the upcoming elections on November 5, the competition between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to be intense. This shooting incident marks the first such event involving a sitting U.S. president or a major party presidential candidate in over forty years.

The event raised significant concerns about security, leading to bipartisan calls for accountability that resulted in the resignation of Kimberly Cheatle, the director of the Secret Service.
