Egypt Daily News – The White House has announced that former President Jimmy Carter has passed away. The Carter Center also reported, citing the son of the deceased, that the former US president, who led the country between 1977 and 1981, died on Sunday afternoon at his home in Plains, Georgia, after receiving palliative care for the elderly for nearly two years.
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate president died at the age of 100. Carter’s lifespan extended longer after the end of his term than any other American president. He has lived a period equal to 40% of the existence of the USA.
He also gained a good reputation throughout his career as a former president compared to what the situation was like when he was president.
Nobel Peace Prize
It is noteworthy that Carter was a farmer in peanut fields in the state of Georgia, and during his tenure as president of the United States, he faced problems, including poor economic conditions and the hostage crisis in Iran, which ended for him in a disaster.
However, he will always be known that he brokered peace between Israel and Egypt. Carter later won the Nobel Peace Prize for his humanitarian work.
The late president belonged to the Democratic Party and served as president from 1977 to 1981 after defeating then-Republican President Gerald Ford in the 1976 elections.
May he Rest In Peace.
