Egypt Daily News – Palestinian sources reported early Thursday that Hamas spokesperson Abdul Latif al-Qanou was martyred in an Israeli airstrike that targeted his displacement tent in Jabaliya, northern Gaza.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant pledged on Wednesday to carry out new military operations in other areas of the Gaza Strip, affirming that the Israeli army would soon operate at full strength in the region as part of the ongoing military campaign against Hamas.
In a video posted on the platform “X,” with Arabic subtitles, Katz delivered a direct message to the residents of Gaza, warning that the military would ask them to evacuate combat zones to protect their lives, signaling a potential escalation of military operations in the near future.
Katz added that Hamas was responsible for putting the lives of Gaza’s residents at risk due to the ongoing fighting, noting that civilians had lost their homes as a result of Hamas’s actions.
Last week, the Israeli Defense Minister threatened that Israel would maintain permanent control over parts of the Gaza Strip if Hamas did not release the remaining Israeli hostages it holds.
Katz explained that as long as Hamas delayed the release of the hostages, Israel would continue to expand its control over Gaza’s territory, clearly escalating the political and military pressures on the group.
