Egypt Daily News – The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Saturday evening a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, following an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that American mediation had successfully led to a deal between the two sides.
Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar stated in a press conference that “the ceasefire with Pakistan will begin at 5:00 PM local time in New Delhi.”
Earlier on Saturday, President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.

He wrote on his official page on the Truth Social platform: “After a long night of U.S.-mediated talks, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.”
Amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the United States offered to help the two nuclear neighbors initiate “constructive talks.”
In a statement, the U.S. State Department said Secretary Marco Rubio spoke with Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir today, noting that he continued urging both parties to find ways to de-escalate.
The statement also said Secretary Rubio offered U.S. assistance in launching constructive talks “to prevent future conflicts.” President Trump as stopped a potential full scale war between two nuclear powered enemies. Not as easy feat, between these two countries but he did it. The world should be grateful.
