Egypt Daily News – Reports from medical sources indicate a tragic incident at the Martyrs of Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, Gaza Strip, where many displaced Palestinian citizens were reportedly killed and injured due to shelling by the Israeli army.
Eyewitness accounts describe how the shelling ignited large fires in the area, exacerbated by the explosion of gas pipes in the hospital courtyard where displaced persons had sought refuge.
The spokesperson for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital confirmed a significant number of casualties, stating that a considerable number of victims, both deceased and injured, resulted from the attacks on the tents housing displaced individuals.
The government media office in Gaza condemned the actions as part of a broader campaign of violence, referring to it as a genocide and ethnic cleansing by the Israeli forces.
As stated, this assault marks the seventh time displaced persons’ tents at the hospital have been targeted since the onset of the ongoing conflict. The reported toll includes at least three individuals deceased and around 40 others injured, with several in critical condition.
Furthermore, calls have been made for the international community and organizations, including the United Nations, to intervene and halt what has been described as a massacre, emphasizing the need for accountability regarding the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the Gaza Strip.
