Egypt Daily News – A Palestinian official, today, Sunday, stressed that the Israeli army destroyed the entire Jenin camp in the West Bank completely and displaced more than 20,000 citizens, leaving behind their homes, documents and personal property.
The Assistant Governor of Jenin Mansour Al -Saadi said: “What is happening in the city of Jenin and its camp is a collective punishment that is exposed to about 400,000 citizens in the province,” stressing that “this continuous aggression is behind significant economic losses, in addition to disrupting the educational process.”
Al -Saadi also appealed to “international human rights and legal institutions all entry into the camp and document the volume of the crime, especially since there is a great possibility of the presence of bodies … and also injured under the ruins of destroyed houses,” according to the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa).
An Extensive Operation
The Israeli army began, at dawn on Sunday, a massive military campaign in Nour Shams camp in the northern West Bank, which is inhabited by about 13,000 people, while carrying out a similar military operation in the Tulkarm and Jenin camps.
Officials of the People’s Committee of Nour Shams camp said that more than half of its population left, since they started the Israeli army operation in the nearby Tulkarm camp.
The Israeli army has also launched a massive military campaign in the northern West Bank for more than two weeks, specifically in the camps of Jenin, Tulkarm, Nour Shams, Qabatiya towns, Sumoun and Tubas, where he announced that it had killed dozens of militants and arrested dozens of others.
On the other hand, the Israeli army confirmed that its forces “expanded their operation” in the northern West Bank. It explained in a statement that the combat unit “started operations in Nour Shams”, adding that its soldiers “targeted a number of terrorists and stopped individuals in the region.”
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has announced the martyr of 70 Palestinians in the West Bank since the beginning of the year 2025. The violence has escalated in the West Bank since the outbreak of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 885 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank since that date, also, at least 32 Israelis were killed, in Palestinian attacks or confrontations during Israeli operations in the region during the same period, according to official Israeli figures
