Egypt Daily News – The Israeli army has launched airstrikes on positions belonging to Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis), including an attack on Ras Isa port in the Al-Salif district of Hudaydah in western Yemen.
Israeli Channel 13 reported on Sunday that the strikes followed prior warnings to evacuate the port, and explosions were heard in the area. Houthi-affiliated media outlets confirmed that “Israeli enemy aircraft are carrying out a series of airstrikes on Hudaydah province in western Yemen.”
Earlier, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee published a statement on Telegram warning those present at seaports under Houthi control to evacuate, including the ports of Hudaydah and Al-Salif.
Ansar Allah has been repeatedly launching attacks on Israel, to which Israel has responded with airstrikes targeting various locations in Sana’a and Hudaydah. On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Houthi movement declared a “complete aerial blockade” on Israel by repeatedly targeting Israeli airports, in retaliation for Tel Aviv’s decision to “expand aggressive operations in Gaza.”
