Egypt Daily News – On Monday, US Vice President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, was able to collect enough delegates to win the Democratic Party nomination for the presidential elections, according to CNN estimates.

While the number of delegates supporting Harris is growing, she has so far received far more support than the 1,976 delegates she would need to win the nomination on the first ballot.

Kamala Harris exceeded the required number amid a wave of support from delegates in the states.

It is noteworthy that Harris moved quickly in the wake of Biden’s sudden announcement of his withdrawal from the presidential race, reaching out to senators, other legislators, and government officials as well, and asking them to support her. Harris said, in a statement, that she intends to “fight for this nomination.”

The Association of State Democratic Committees announced in a statement on Sunday that the “overwhelming majority” of Democratic Party leaders announced their support for Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate.

“I am proud that party chairs, vice chairs and CEOs across the country are uniting overwhelmingly behind Vice President Kamala Harris,” said Assembly Speaker Ken Martin.
