Egypt Daily News – King Abdullah II of Jordan strongly rejected the idea of displacement, resettlement, or alternative homeland proposals, emphasizing that these ideas would not be accepted. His statement was a response to U.S. plans, reaffirming Jordan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and advocating for solutions that protect Palestinian rights and sovereignty.
The King of Jordan emphasized that his position has not and will not change, stating that for 25 years, his stance has been clear: “No to displacement, no to resettlement, no to an alternative homeland.” He condemned those who cast doubt on these unwavering positions.
This comes as a clear response to Trump’s plan to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip.
The King made these remarks during his meeting with a group of retired military comrades at the Hashemite Royal Court, on the occasion of Loyalty Day for military retirees and veterans.
Despite all the challenges, the King expressed optimism, stressing that he draws strength and courage from his beloved people, the brave members of the Jordanian Armed Forces, and his retired military comrades.
He added that he is aware of the readiness of military retirees to don their uniforms and stand by his side, to the right and left of King Abdullah, in the face of all challenges.
While discussing his recent visit to Washington, King Abdullah emphasized that safeguarding Jordan’s interests, stability, and protecting Jordan and its people are above all considerations. He affirmed the importance of working to rebuild Gaza without displacing Palestinian brothers and sisters in Gaza and the West Bank.
He stressed the importance of de-escalation in the West Bank and reiterated that achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution is the only path to stability in the region.
The King expressed his pride in his comrades from the armed forces and security agencies, and their sacrifices in protecting the homeland and preserving its resources. He highlighted the vital role of military retirees and their expertise in advancing Jordan’s achievements and institutions.
