Egypt Daily News – Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, recently conducted an inspection of security measures in the northeastern region, starting with the forces assigned to secure the Rafah land crossing.
During the tour, he reinforced the armed forces’ primary mission of safeguarding the nation’s borders across all strategic directions, emphasizing their capability to defend against threats across generations.
He underscored critical qualities such as knowledge, willpower, and physical fitness, which are essential for executing military tasks with high professionalism.
In addition, he evaluated the living and administrative conditions of combat personnel while assessing security operations along the northeastern border.
Detailed briefings on the collaborative efforts among different military specializations were part of his observations, aimed at ensuring continuous control of the international border.
The Chief of Staff also shared a meal with troops stationed along the border, reinforcing the importance of vigilance and readiness to address emergency situations. He expressed gratitude to the security forces for their commitment to border security, reiterating the General Command’s confidence in their operational capabilities.
He urged the military to resist rumors that threaten the integrity of the Egyptian state, especially in context to its ongoing battle against terrorism and efforts to secure peace and stability for its citizens, including those in Sinai.
Following his visit to the Rafah area, he extended greetings from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Abdel Meguid Saker to the soldiers, commending them on the stable security climate achieved and honoring the sacrifices of those who died defending Sinai. He engaged directly with various troops to discuss their perspectives and concerns.
In addition, the Chief of Staff inspected border control measures from the Operations Center of the North Sinai Security Sector and reviewed the security of developmental projects aligned with the strategic plan for North Sinai.
He praised the morale and commitment of the armed forces, alongside meeting with local officials to bolster efforts towards comprehensive development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of North Sinai residents.
The inspection involved key military leadership, including command from the Border Guards, the Armed Forces Operations Authority, the Second Field Army, Military Intelligence, and Special Forces.
